Eagle on Root River

This eagle sat watching/ignoring us for 45 minutes while we snacked below. When we moved on he/she was still in the tree. We felt honored that we were allowed to view this remarkable piece of nature. RAGBRAI 2010

We had a great time on RAGBRAI. It was a wonderful day--not too hot, no rain. As I approached Quimby, I saw all these windmils that were not turning. I thought, "Oh, man. How terrible! All these people coming to our area and all of the windmills not working. A few minutes later, it dawned on my that it wasn't that they weren't working, but that there was NO WIND! All afternoon there was NO wind. Amazing.
